Rather\, it is to help scientists translate their expertise into influence — so that their research and ideas are heard\, their judgment is trusted\, and they are recognized as leaders who not only have critical insights into their area science but also into the potential business impact of their recommendations. \nWho should attend? \nThis course is ideal for: \n\nScientists who are interested in enabling more engagement\, persuasion\, and business impact from their presentations\nScientists that would like to feel more confident\, calm\, and energized when presenting\nScientists who are expected to influence decisions\, lead people\, communicate beyond their technical specialty\, or represent their organization\nScientists transitioning from academia to industry — especially those learning to operate in a more business-oriented and matrixed environment\nScientists who represent the organization externally — speakers\, conference presenters\, scientific liaisons\, or subject-matter experts interacting with customers\, partners\, investors\, regulators\, or media\n\nParticipants interested in continuing to build their leadership capabilities may benefit from Transitioning to Leader: Extended Version\, which supports professionals as they develop the skills and mindset needed to lead others effectively\, or Preparing for Effective Presentations\, which provides additional practice in communicating ideas clearly and confidently to a range of audiences. He has held senior leadership roles at global organizations such as Boston Scientific\, Cisco Systems\, Fidelity Investments\, and Bank of America\, and currently works as an executive coach with Harvard Business School’s Executive Education programs. Rick holds a BA and MA from Brown University and an MBA from Babson College.
