DESCRIPTION:In this workshop\, participants will explore BioScann\, a week-long digital problem-based learning curriculum that builds student STEM career awareness and graph interpretation skills in the context of real-world science. Come experience Tufts Center for Science Education’s new Cervicare Coalition Case\, which explores HPV\, vaccines and shared clinical decision-making. \nParticipants will have the opportunity to explore BioScann as a student\, taking on the role of various STEM professionals and analyzing career-specific data to make group decisions. Participants will get access to BioScann\, including additional cases on HIV Drug Development\, and a Stress Public Health Campaign\, and get support setting up to use it in their classroom. All curricular materials are FREE. This curriculum was created by partnership with Boston-area teachers and the Center for Science Education (CSE) at Tufts School of Medicine\, with the support of a Science Education Partnership Award from the National Institutes of Health. \nIntended Audience: Educators in Grades 9-12

SUMMARY:Hands-on Activity at Everett High School
DESCRIPTION:Assist our BioTeach Instructors as they deliver hands-on biotech labs to high schoolers as part of our Access Biotechnology after school program. Help students learn how to use basic biotech techniques to learn how medicines can be purified during biomanufacturing by using chromatography to separate a mix of molecules. \nConnect with students and share your personal career journey.  \nExperience in basic lab techniques such as micropipetting and chromatography are a welcome but not required. Any necessary training will be provided on the day of the event.
