Workforce training programs provide individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to be successful in the workplace but not all programs are created equal.

Start by browsing our library of training programs, then visit a program’s website for more details. If you can’t find the information you’re looking for online, reach out to a program directly with any questions.

Tips for Choosing a Training Program

  • Find out what you will learn: Make sure the program covers the specific areas you’re interested in (e.g., lab operations, biomanufacturing, clinical research).
  • Pay attention to Hands-On Learning Opportunities: Look for programs that provide practical experience through labs, internships, or real-world projects. This will help you build the skills you will use on the job and help you stand out when applying for jobs or college programs.
  • Research Job Opportunities and Support: Look for programs with strong job placement rates, internships, and career support services to help you transition into the workforce. A good sign is if participants get jobs soon after finishing the program.
  • Look for Industry Connections: Choose a program that works closely with companies, research institutions, or healthcare organizations. Industry partnerships can help you get internships, hands-on experience, and job opportunities after you finish.
  • Check the Program’s Reputation: Find out what other people think about the program. Look for reviews from past participants to see if they had a good experience. Visit the program’s official website to see if they list any certifications that will help you find a job.
  • Think about the Schedule and Length of the Program: Programs can be full-time, part-time, online, or in-person. You also need to check how long it takes to complete.  Some programs take a few weeks to a few months, others take more than a year to complete. Pick one that works with your schedule and helps you reach your career goal in a timeline that makes sense for you.
